She took it and
she took it in force, in might. I should have known. I should have seen it
coming. How could I assume her as just a machine? I paid.
Scorching
summers this time - that too at a stretch, with no respite in sight. My work being
to keep people’s thermometer in control, there’s a lot of push and pull in my daily 12 hour shift. Last evening I had a lucky escape –
where I could sneak past at 7. The day was still young and what was I to do
sitting at home this early. So, I decided to take her out for a spin – just
around the city thing. But what did I know!
Initial 30 kms
was nice calm smooth dug-dug-dug and then..... she stopped. Stopped right in the
middle with no sign, no nothing. Kick her couple of times and back on line
we are - then stop again after 2 kms - and again - and again. Situation became bad to
the extent that once she would start, I would give her full throttle so that we cover at least half a km and then again she would pretend dead. The fuel was there,
the fuel valve was open, choke was disengaged, electronics were up – yet she
went dead - as and when she fancied. I rolled her at my sister’s place in
Mohali – deciding to get the mistri in morning.
In all
probability it’s a carburettor issue. But point is not that – point is I should
have seen it coming. Both the ladies are parked side by side at my place. While
HD has her cover - she don’t. While I take HD out for weekend rides – she
don’t. For a while now, HD has been on my mind – she don’t.
How could I miss
her attitude? How could I rule out the “J” factor between the two? How could I
just assume her?
I foul up – I
pay. Rules are simple.
I get it.

I remember, that machine ...your first love had shown some `attitude' as the `chill-pill-awesome' generation calls it, right at the start itself.I remember, I was there for its delivery ... I mean .. when she was delivered to you.She is like a true `Jatti' ... all that attitude for nothing. Just needs all that what Jatti needs ... pull push and poking.
I have never trusted this brand ...though its sound has fascinated many like that of Madhubala ....
