fumes

Fumes can be toxic and it is best they be exhaled for their blackening carbon.

I run a business and as such I pay Value Added Tax, I pay Service Tax, I pay Income Tax, I pay Road Tax, I pay Property Tax, I pay Entry Tax, I pay Toll Tax and other relevant government fees. I am 34 years old, of which I would have stayed 33 years plus 9 months in Chandigarh itself, and close to a decade as an active tax payer.

I see myself turning old when I become aware of my talks becoming similar to that of my elders - back in the day, on a Sunday there used to be negligible traffic on city roads, back in the day Industrial Area was all about labourers, back in the day you could ride a bicycle to school and so on and so forth. I can continue to ramble, but that is not the point here.

Just as me there would be many more who would have been paying taxes, and since that many years - leave apart a few hoarders - majorly people have been doing that. My point is, what has changed ? Where is the worth of all those taxes being collected ? Where is the fund flow going to ? The city is growing disproportionately (population density wise) vis-a-vis its infrastructure. Do I see more roads or widened roads or flyovers or sky trains or underpasses or overpasses ? None. Do we have a law which controls the purchase and use of big multi-seater vehicles ? None. Do we have a quality and affordable healthcare ? None. Do we have a fair justice system, from the police to the judiciary ? I'll leave that for you to answer. Do we have an evolving and an affordable education system ? Parents do answer.

Its majorly NAYS than YAYS. You pick any aspect of citizen facilities umbrella, and see the change that has happened over the decades. By default, your judgement will be for the lack of better words - ZERO or TOO LITTLE TOO LATE.

Grim and sad !

Why can't we be proactive and foresee the problems before they actually hit our faces ? Are we all so busy raising our families that we can't think and do our jobs straight ? What are we waiting for - a total collapse ? Why is it that we don't stand for our rights and liberties ? To my mind, in all probability it is because we are so drained fulfilling our social responsibilities (which we never wanted in the first place and realised it too late), that we can barely stand for ourselves in our own lives, leave alone our civil rights and liberties. And of this situation, who makes the hay ? The ones who want to control - keeping populace ignorant and busy in their mundane affairs, that they know not the difference between freedom and slavery !

Yet despite all - despite not being clear ourselves and unable to stand for ourselves, we go on reproducing. Isn't that the biggest crime ? I mean there should be a law and its enforcement agency, which gives reproduction rights only to matures - mature both physically as well as mentally. Kids making kids and then kids raising kids - and thats exactly what we have, a whole lot of grown ups with an IQ of a kid.

THINK - while its still legal

Yeah...I feel better now
